“Glen Melin received his commission through Army ROTC at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. During his time in ROTC, Glen attended Air Assault School, Airborne School, and Special Forces Combat Diver Qualification Course. Glen received his commission as an Infantry Officer in 2011.

 

“Glen first reported to Ft. Benning, GA for his initial infantry training. There he attended Infantry Basic Officer Leaders Course, Infantry Mortar Leaders Course, Ranger School, and Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course.

 

“In 2013 Glen moved Ft. Bliss Texas to serve in 3-41 Infantry Battalion, 1-1 Stryker Brigade Combat Team. During his time at 3-41, Glen served as an Infantry Platoon Leader and Reconnaissance Platoon Leader while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 12-13. In 2013 Glen earned his Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Following deployment Glen attended Pathfinder School and served as Assistant Operations Officer. In 2014 Glen attended Special Forces Assessment Selection, where he was selected to begin the Special Forces Qualification Course.

 

“Glen attended Special Forces training in Ft. Bragg, NC from 2014-2017. There he graduated Special Operations Captain Career Course, Small Unit Tactics, Special Forces Military Occupational Specialty Course, Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Course - Level C, Robin Sage, Russian Language Course, and Military FreeFall School. Glen earned his Green Beret in 2017.

 

“In 2017, Glen reported to 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Ft. Carson, CO. Glen took command of Operational Detachment - Alpha 0225, attended Lone Operator - Advanced Force Protection in Hostile Environment Course, then immediately deployed to Afghanistan in support of Resolute Support Mission - VIII. Following deployment Glen graduated the Special Operations Forces Jumpmaster Course, then deployed to Romania in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. 

 

‘In 2019, Glen was selected to take command of Operational Detachment - Golf 0431 Jedburgh Team. Glen graduated from the Professional Communications Course and Special Operations Combatives Program - Level 1. Glen’s last assignment was as the Executive Officer for Jedburgh Company, 4th Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

 

“Glen elected to resign his commission in 2022 so that he could spend time with his three young children: Sydney, Glen “G3”, and Serenity.”
